ULAN BATOR, June 18 (Xinhuanet) -- The Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP), the biggest party in the country, elected Miyeegombo Enkhbold as its new chairman on Saturday.

Enkhbold would replace Nambaryn Enkhbayar, who had to quit the MPRP according to the law after being elected Mongolian president in May, to lead the 100,000-member party.

Enkhbold, born in 1964, graduated from Mongolian National University in 1987.

He joined the MPRP in 1990 and has served as the chairman of the MPRP's council in Ulan Bator since 1997.

He was elected mayor of Ulan Bator in 1999. Enditem
