KABUL, June 15 (Xinhuanet) -- Seven Taliban militants were killed and 13 others injured during fight with Afghan National Army (ANA)and Coalition forces Tuesday in Afghan southern province of Kandahar, Afghan official said.

"The fight began from about 10 a.m. until afternoon in Mian Nishin district of Kandahar, and seven Taliban were killed and 13 injured during the fight, and we also arrested two Taliban militants," Muslim Hamid, the commander of ANA in Kandahar, told Xinhua Wednesday.

"There are also four ANA soldiers injured, and one of them is in bad condition," Hamid added.

Some weapons and armament have been captured by the ANA and Coalition forces, and the searching operation is still going on.

Both the Taliban and government troops backed by US military have intensified their operations since the onset of spring in which over 150 people including civilians, militants, Afghan and US troops have been killed.

On Monday, two Taliban combatants were killed and 12 others were captured in Kandahar. On the same day, four US soldiers were wounded when a suspected improvised explosive detonated in the same province. Enditem
