BEIJING, June 11 --  Angelina Jolie issued a brief press release Friday to deny rumors that she had celebrated her thirtieth birthday (June 4) with Pitt at a secret location in New York, where the couple was seeing canoodling and eating food out of each other's mouths.

Jolie, who co-stars with Pitt in the comedic thriller "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," said she spent her birthday alone in her New York hotel suite.

"Apparently Brad forgot my birthday, despite all the hints I gave him," said Jolie. "I wasn't too happy about 'celebrating' by myself, watching a movie on HBO and ordering a salad from room service. If I'd had a gun, I'd have shot him."

During the entire time they were in New York to promote "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," Pitt and Jolie were not seen, much less interviewed, together.

By prearrangement neither interview contained questions about the stars' personal lives or their love scenes in "Mr & Mrs. Smith." Enditem
