The explosion occurred at 1:09 on Thursday afternoon at the home of Zhang Xuequan, owner of a coal mine in Changninggong village, Fenyang City.

Zhang's two-story home collapsed in the explosion, which also demolished 26 nearby houses. Five families were affected.

Zhang, suspected of illegally storing explosives, has been detained and all his assets have been frozen, according to Fenyang Public Security Bureau.

All the 25 injured have been hospitalized under government funds of some 800,000 yuan (nearly 96,400 US dollars). Enditem
