Laos expels 3 Americans for interfering internal affairs

HANOI, June 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Laos has just expelled three US citizens for having interfered the country's internal affairs and distorted its policies, Vietnamese newspaper New Hanoi reported Tuesday.

The three people, members of the California-based Fact Finding Commission (FFC), have distorted and blocked the implementation of Laos' policies, and propagandized anti-Lao government arguments, the newspaper quoted an announcement by Laos's Ministry of Foreign Affairs as saying.

They distorted Laos' poverty reduction policies and prevented the implementation of the country's resettlement policies designated for ethnic people. They incited ethnic people of Hmong in Laos' northern Xieng Khouang province to cause public disorder, creating misunderstanding between Lao residents and authorities, the ministry said.
