Urgent: UK postpones referendum on EU constitution

  ¡¡LONDON, June 6 (Xinhuanet) -- British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw said on Monday that Britain will postpone plans for a referendum on the European Union constitution.

    "Until the consequences of France and the Netherlands being unable to ratify the treaty are clarified, it would not in our judgment now be sensible to set a date for second reading" of the legislation for the referendum, he told the House of Commons. Enditem
