RAMALLAH, June 3 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas denied on Friday that his second summit with Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon on June 21 will be held at Sharon's home in Jerusalem as alleged.

    Abbas said Palestinian-Israeli contacts are under way to make the summit a success. The two leaders met on Feb. 8 in Egypt with a declaration of ceasefire to end a four-year violence.

    Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for Sharon said the summit would be held in Jerusalem, but the precise venue for the meeting had yet to be decided.

    It would be the first time an Israeli prime minister and a Palestinian leader have met in the city whose final status is set to be discussed in the peace talks between the two sides.

    Israel sees Jerusalem as its eternal and indivisible capital, while Palestinians want Arab East Jerusalem to become a capital of a future independent Palestinian state. Enditem
