ĦĦHONG KONG, June 3 (Xinhuanet) -- Hong Kong celebrities on Friday held that
Donald Tsang will be the most suitable person for the Chief Executive of the
Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as he has rich experience of
administration.
They noted after Tsang unveiled his
election platform Thursday that Tsang is practical with his governing concept
and thoroughly understands the challenges and chances facing Hong Kong. With
richexperience of civil service, he is the right choice for the position of the
Chief Executive, they said.
Donald Tsang explained his ideas about his running
for the election and solicited the opinions of the Election Committee Friday
afternoon. Dignitaries including Wing-kee Chan, representative of the National
People's Congress, Victor TK Li, Vice President of Cheung Kong (Holdings)
Limited and Larry Rong Zhijian, President of CITI Pacific, at the meeting all
expressed their support for Donald Tsang to run for the Chief Executive. They
said they felt confident about Tsang who has strong administrative capability.
Jose Sunsay Yu, member of the Standing Committee of
the ChinesePeople's Political Consultative Conference, said he support Tsang to
run for the Chief Executive, because he believed Tsang has the capability to do
the job. He said, Donald Tsang has been a civil servant for a long time with an
honest, law-abiding and devoted image. If Tsang is elected the Chief Executive,
the efficiency of the government will be promoted.
Kwok Chun Yu, Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong
GuangdongCommunity Organizations Limited, said Tsang is more than equal to the
task of the Chief Executive. He said, "Tsang provided a clear and comprehensive
policy platform. Putting people first, promotingall-round economic development
and building a peaceful society arethe concepts that will win solid support from
the citizens."

Ian Fok said he agreed with Tsang's governing concepts. He said, "It is good
that Tsang said in his election platform he will consider taxreduction if Hong
Kong maintains a sustainable economy."
Kenneth Ting, Chairman of Federation of Hong Kong
Industries, said, "We are confident about Donald Tsang's leadership and
experience. He understands the need and challenges in the businessworld. We
believe he can lead Hong Kong to strengthen its competitive ability in the world
market and maintain the momentum of economic recovery and growth in Hong Kong."
