BAGHDAD, June 2 (Xinhuanet) -- A US soldier was killed in a roadside bomb near the flashpoint city of Ramadi, west of Baghdad,the US military said on Thursday.

    The soldier, assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, was killed in a roadside bomb blast which hit his vehicle near Ramadi, some 100 km west of Baghdad, the military said in a statement.

    Over 1, 660 US soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March 2003.  Enditem
