RAMALLAH, June 1 (Xinhuanet) -- Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian who was driving a car on a road near the West Bank city of Qalqilya on Wednesday, Palestinian witnesses reported.

    Israel Radio said a Palestinian citizen was killed on the road north of Qalqilya city as he drove a car and tried to hit a group of Israeli soldiers.

    The Israeli soldiers immediately opened fire at the Palestinian's car and killed him, the Palestinian witnesses said, adding that one soldier was seriously wounded.

    In another development, the Israeli army arrested three Palestinians at Bitonya town near the West Bank city of Ramallah early Wednesday, taking them to unknown places, the residents in the town said. Enditem
