GAZA, May 28 (Xinhuanet) -- Leaders of the ruling Fatah movement and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) agreed to form a joint committee and put mechanisms to resolve the current crisis between them, well-informed Palestinian sources said Saturday.

Abdullah Ifranji, a senior Fatah leader, told reporters that his movement agreed with Hamas on "forming a joint committee to preview all the notes that were presented by both sides to solve it.

"The crisis between the two groups mounted and was about to lead to physical confrontation after the Palestinian court annulled the results of the municipal elections in some voting stations in northern, central and southern Gaza Strip.

Ifrangi made the remarks following a meeting held Friday night between the two movements' leaders, which was sponsored by the Egyptian mediating security delegation.

Ifranji said "Hamas has some notes and we in Fatah have also some notes, we will preview it but it would not be presented before media in order to resolve it peacefully from its roots.

"Meanwhile, Isma'eel Haneya, a Hamas prominent leader said "it was agreed between representatives of Hamas and Fatah on a schedule to resolve the disagreements on the municipal elections' results.

"Haneya added that Hamas had decided to continue the dialogue with Fatah and agreed on a clear mechanism for this dialogue, "and we have a big hope to reach a solution for this disagreement.

"The Egyptian delegation headed by Mustafa Al-Buheiri, a deputyof chief intelligence, had held four rounds of talks with representatives of Fatah and Hamas, which finally considered dialogue the only basis to resolve the disagreements between them.

According to the well-informed Palestinian sources, the Egyptian delegation would leave the Gaza Strip Saturday after a visit lasted for five days. Enditem
