ISLAMABAD, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Landslide hit the Tibetan expedition for the world's 11th high peak Mount Gasherbrom I, killing one and injuring at least 10, according to reports reaching here Saturday.

Expedition member Renna, 39, suffered serious injury to the head and died before the arrival of the helicopter sent by Pakistani airforce.

Renna had scaled 13 over 8,000 meters peaks in the world with the Tibetan expedition. The Mount Gosherbrom I is the 14th and last over 8,000 meters peak in the Tibetan expedition programme starting from 1993.

Another expediton member Bianbazhaxi also suffered serious injury to the head. He has been sent to nearby hospital for treatment. He is now in stable but still critical conditions.

The Tibetan Mountaineering Association has decided to call off the plan of scaling the Mount Gosherbrom I. All the members of the expedition will be back to Islamabad on Saturday. Enditem
