ISLAMABAD, May 27 (Xinhuanet) -- The death toll in a bomb explosion at a Muslim shrine in Islamabad has risen to 25, local Geo TV channel reported Friday.

The blast occurred at 11:20 a.m. (0620 GMT) inside the BariImam shrine, where hundreds of Muslims were gathering for an annual religious festival.

Around 100 people were injured, more than 50 of whom had been rushed to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.   Witnesses said there were blood every where and body parts were scattered inside and outside the shrine.

Tariq Mehmood, a police officer working at the scene, said the death toll is at least 10.

The shrine is close to Pakistan's main government buildings and the diplomatic area. Police have cordoned off the scene after the blast.

The motive for the attack was not immediately clear.  Enditem
