JAKARTA, May 26 (Xinhuanet) -- The United States is
closing all its diplomatic mission offices in Indonesia on Thursday because of
security threat, the US Embassy said in a message published by its local website
here Wednesday.
The message said that the US government will close its embassy office in Jakarta, the Consulate General and all
other US government facilities in Indonesia.
It also warns all American citizens that the
terrorist threat in Indonesia remains high.
Attacks can occur at any time and be directed to any
location, including those frequented by foreigners as well as the identifiably
American and other western facilities or businesses in Indonesia, it said.
The US embassy in Jakarta has been under tight
security, which is blocked by cement blocks at the front.
The US has consulates in Surabaya, the capital city
of East Java Province, and on the resort island of Bali. There is also a US
representative office in Medan, the capital city of North Sumatra Province.
