GAZA, May 25 (Xinhuanet) -- A senior Palestinian police officer revealed Wednesday that the Palestinian police had seized an Israeli listening device that was used in assassinating militants in southern Gaza Strip areas.
Colonel Shawki Abu Naseer, chief of police department in the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah, said that the police engineering unit managed to seize a dangerous listening devise near the Sofa crossing in eastern Rafah.
"The device was used to send information around the Palestinian militants and enables the Israelis to assassinate them," he added.
Abu Naseer clarified that "the device is tiny and formed of very small pieces of sponge and batteries," adding that the Israeli soldiers used to put it on the borderline where it determine the militants' place and transfer radio vibrations.
"Then it sends signals to the Israeli soldiers who start chasing those militants by planes," Abu Naseer said.
Meanwhile, the engineering unit warned the Palestinian residents from playing with such equipments in case finding it, and calls them to inform the police about its place directly. Enditem |
