    BEIJING, May 24 -- Quashing any chat that his new romance with youngster Katie Holmes would never last or was just a publicity stunt, he's come out and professed his love for her... already.

    ¡°I can¡¯t be cool. I can¡¯t be laid-back,¡± an exuberant Cruise said Monday during a taped appearance on ¡°The Oprah Winfrey Show.¡± ¡°Something happened and I want to celebrate it.¡±

    "I love this woman, she's magnificent," he blurted out - on US telly of all places.

    Will he propose? His answer did more than leave the door open. ¡°I¡¯m going to discuss it with her,¡± the twice-divorced actor said. ¡°Honestly, I haven¡¯t (had this kind of experience before).¡±

    The 42-year-old actor and 26-year-old actress were first photographed together in Rome last month.

    Cruise was previously married to Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman.

    Holmes and actor Chris Klein recently called off their engagement, after dating for five years.

    Cruise and Holmes both have blockbuster movies opening next month - Cruise stars in Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds and Holmes co-stars with Christian Bale in Batman Begins.
