Fatah to defeat Hamas in elections: poll

    RAMALLAH, May 19 (Xinhuanet) -- The mainstream Fatah movement would defeat the radical Hamas movement in the Palestinian parliamentary elections due in July, said a poll published on Thursday.

    The poll, conducted by the Palestinian Center for Researches and Surveys in Ramallah, said Fatah would get 38.7 percent, while Hamas would get 32.9 percent of Palestinian Legislative Council seats.

    It said that the left-wing block would get 7.9 percent, and the independent list that includes 15 candidates would get 8.3 percent.

    According to the poll, Hamas would earn the highest percentage in refugee camps. Enditem
