WASHINGTON, May 16 (Xinhuanet) -- US President George W. Bush has nominated
General Teed M. Moseley as chief of staff of the Air Force, the Pentagon
announced Monday.
If confirmed by the US Senate, Moseley, who has been vice chief of staff of
the US Air Force since August 2003, would succeed General John P. Jumper.
Jumper has served in the position since September 2001, and is due to
finish his four-year term in September.
Moseley entered the Air Force in 1971. As a command pilot, he has
accumulated more than 2,800 flying hours, principally in fighter aircraft.
His previous Pentagon assignments included serving as director of
legislative liaison for the secretary of the Air Force; deputy director for
politico-military affairs for Asia/Pacific and MiddleEast, the Joint Chiefs of
Staff; and chief of the Air Force general officer matters office.
Moseley, from Texas, earned his undergraduate degree in 1971 and master's degree in political science in 1972 from Texas A&M University. Enditem |
