Since 1995, the US-based Fortune Magazine has organized eight Fortune Global Forums. Let's take a look at the background of the Global Forum.

The Fortune Global Forum gathers together the captains of global industry, heads of state, and leading thinkers to focus on the most pressing issues facing world business. It is an opportunity to share strategies and forge alliances that will transform challenges into opportunities.

The first Fortune Global Forum was held in Singapore in 1995. Its theme was "The Same Business World".

The second was held in 1996, in Barcelona, Spain, with the theme; "The New Order of Global Competition".

In 1997, the third moved to Bangkok, Thailand. This time the theme was "Maintaining the Miracle".

The fourth forum was held in Budapest, Hungary, in 1998 where the theme was "Creating Fortune in New Global Economy".

Shanghai held the fifth forum in 1999, with "China: the next 50 years" as the theme.

The sixth forum was held in Paris, France in 2000. The theme was "Electronic Europe: Challenges for C-E-Os".

When the seventh meeting arrived in the Hong Kong Special Autonomous Region in 2001, the focus was on "The Next Asian Generation".

The latest forum was held in Washington in 2002. The theme of that forum was "The Power of Leadership: Grasping the New Reality".
