Chen Yifei painting sells for record high

    BEIJING, May 15 -- A work by the late Chinese painter Chen Yifei has sold for a record high 4 million RMB, or about 480 thousand US dollars, setting a new best for his artwork.

    The painting depicts an old man in Tibet and was painted in 2004 sold at an auction on Saturday.

    Another Chen Yifei work called "Zhouzhuang", which depicts the beautiful rivers and lakes found in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, was also being auctioned.
