YANGON, May 15 (Xinhuanet) -- Myanmar on Sunday charged a superpower nation with being behind the May 7 deadly bombing incident in Yangon by using well-trained bombers of anti-government armed groups trained out in a neighboring country under the name of an international organization engaged in refugee relief work.

    The accusation was made by government spokesman Brigadier-General Kyaw Hsan, who is Minister of Information, at a press briefing here.

    Members of the anti-government armed groups have received blasting explosives trainings in the border areas given by a world famous organization of a superpower nation, he said.

    It is generally understood that the superpower which he impliedis the United States.

    Members of these anti-government organizations undergoing such training which he said include those from the Shan State Army (SSA)led by Ywet Sit, Kayin National Union (KNU), Kayinni National Progressive Party (KNPP), National Council of the Union of Burma (NCUB), National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma (NCGUB)and All Burma Students' Democratic Front (ABSDF). These groups hadpreviously committed a series of terrorist acts across the country,he noted.

    The government, based on its laboratory analysis, confirmed that the cordite used in the time-bombs must be RDX (Research Department Explosive) utilized by the armies in big nations and such high-explosive bombs could only be handled by well-trained bombers and Myanmar is not in a position to produce such devices, he said.

    Kyaw Hsan urged a trilateral cooperation between the people, the government and the armed forces to overcome difficulties in preventing such incidents to repeat and for the peace and tranquility of the nation.

    He added that " the government and the Tatmadaw (armed forces) are mighty enough to safeguard the sovereignty and lives and properties of the people."

    Meanwhile, the Myanmar police force is offering a cash reward of 5 million Myanmar Kyats ( about 5,500 US dollars) for providinginformation about the bombers.

    A series of three bomb explosions took place on May 7 afternoonwithin 10 minutes at the Yangon Trade Center and two shopping centers -- Junction-8 and Dagon Center, killing 11 people and injuring 162 others when it was first reported.

    The death tolls has risen to 19 including 12 men and seven women with 69 still remaining hospitalized, according to Kyaw Hsan.Enditem
