Myanmar bomb blast death tolls rise to 19

    YANGON, May 15 (Xinhuanet) -- Death tolls resulted from a series of three bomb blasts in the capital of Yangon on May 7 rose to 19,disclosed Myanmar Minister of Information Brigadier-General Kyaw Hsan Sunday.

    Of the deaths, 12 are men and seven are women, Kyaw Hsan said at a press briefing, adding that, of the injured, 69 are still hospitalized.

    In the bomb explosions taking place within 10 minutes at the Yangon Trade Center and two shopping centers -- Junction-8 and Dagon Center, 162 others were injured.

    Four anti-government armed groups in Myanmar -- the Kayin National Union (KNU), Ywet Sit-led Shan State Army (SSA), Kayinni National Progressive Party (KNPP) and expatriate Sein Win-led National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma (NCGUB), have been charged by the government with planting the time-bombs.

    The government said these terrorist groups sponsored the bomb attacks to undermine peace and stability in the country. Enditem
