| 2 Afghanistans are standing in the Internet cafe after the bomb
blast. | KABUL, May 8 (Xinhuanet) -- A UN worker from Myanmar was
killed in a blast at an internet cafe in Kabul Saturday night, an Afghan government
official said on Sunday.
Three men were killed in the Saturday bomb attack at
the Internet cafe in the center of Kabul and five people were wounded.
"The foreigner who was killed was working with the
United Nations, he was from Myanmar," said Interior Ministry spokesman Lutfullah
Mashal.
Describing the attack as an act of terrorism, police
said that no one had claimed responsibility for the explosion so far.
Violence has swept Afghanistan with the coming of
spring, especially in the south and southeast provinces, which were still
controlled by the ousted Taliban which was toppled in late 2001.
There was a car bomb in Kabul on April 24 in a
residential neighborhood.
Fierce fights between suspected Taliban rebels and US
and Afghan troops have caused about 70 people died in southern Afghanistan
earlier this week. Enditem |
