GAZA, May 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Islamic Jihad's armed wing Saraya al-Quds warned
Sunday against any Israeli attempt to storm the Aqsa Mosque in east Jerusalem.
"The group won't stand by if the Zionists attack the Aqsa Mosque," Abu
Ahmad, the armed wing's commander in Gaza, said in a statement.
"The Zionists will be crazy if they enter the mosque because the
Palestinians will never let them do so, and the armed wings of the Palestinian
factions will strictly respond to any attempt to attack the Aqsa," he said.
Several rightist Jewish groups are likely to storm the Aqsa Mosque on
Monday when they are expected to perform the Talmudrituals and prayers outside
the Aqsa Mosque, which stands on the Jewish holy site of Temple Mount.
The Jihad leader praised the Palestinians living in Israel who vowed to
head to the Aqsa Mosque to defend it against any Jewish attack.
Abu Ahmad also called on the Islamic and Arab countries to stand with the
Palestinians to prevent the Zionists from harming the Aqsa Mosque, the third
holiest shrine in Islam. Enditem |
