BELGRADE, May 7 (Xinhuanet) -- The Chinese embassy in Belgrade held a ceremony Saturday to commemorate the three Chinese journalists killed in US-led NATO's missile attack on the embassy six years ago.

Shao Yunhuan of Xinhua and Xu Xinghu and his wife Zhu Ying fromBeijing-based Guangming Daily were killed in the attack.

The Chinese embassy staff, Belgrade-based Chinese journalists and representatives of Chinese scholars and students attended the ceremony.

They laid flowers and wreaths at the ruins of the former Chinese embassy, where the three journalists were killed.

Ambassador Li Guobang said in a speech that the three dead wereexcellent journalists and their heroic spirit set a good example for Chinese working or studying abroad.

The bombing aroused indignation among the Chinese people and condemnation of the international community. China recalled its ambassador from Washington to protest against the bombing of the embassy in Belgrade and the killing of the journalists. Enditem
