JAKARTA, May 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is to meet US President George W. Bush on May 25, the second day of his three-day visit to the country, a media report said here Saturday.

The visit is part of his tour to a number of foreign countries to seek support to the Indonesian government's working plan, particularly in the field of economy, investment, education and trade, stated spokesman Dino Pati Djalal said.

"On May 25 President Susilo is scheduled to have a bilateral meeting with President George W. Bush in the White House," Dino, who was quoted by the Kompas daily as saying.

The president's visit aims at advancing the government working plan. Indonesia needs international cooperation and support, Dinosaid.

He said that Susilo and Bush are to attend the Asian-Pacific American Heritage in the White House with topic of tsunami disaster.

The spokesman said that one of the purpose of the visit was fora creation of normalization of the military relations of the two countries, which has been stalled by a numbers of problems in the past.

The United Stated has imposed an embargo on the Indonesian military due to alleged violation of human rights during the referendum of East Timor for independence in 1999.

But the US government lifted the ban for the purchasing spareparts of military plane Hercules following the tsunami disaster in Indonesia's Aceh province on Dec. 26 last year.

During his US visit, Susilo would also discuss with the US senate about the 450 million dollar fund promised by the US to Indonesia's tsunami victims.

The Indonesian president is also scheduled to deliver a speech about the policies of the Indonesian government in the US-Asian Business Council and US Chamber of Commerce, at the first day of the visit. Enditem
