Mortar attack kills 4 Iraqis south of Baghdad
www.chinaview.cn 2005-04-28 15:40:16

BAGHDAD, April 28 (Xinhuanet) -- A mortar shell landed on a garage in the Iraqi town of Musayyab, south of Baghdad, killing four civilians and wounding 19 others, police said.

It was not immediately known whether the crowded garage was targeted or hit randomly, the police said.

Musayyab, about 70 km south of Baghdad, is part of a dangerous area known as Triangle of Death.

Separately, a roadside bomb hidden inside a motorcycle blew up in Samarra, some 100 km north of Baghdad, killing two officers and wounding five others, a police source said.

Insurgents have frequently attacked Iraq's fledgling security forces in the violence-ravaged country since the US-led invasion of Iraq began in March 2003.  Enditem
