BEIJING, April 22 (Xinhuanet) -- Visiting French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin left here Friday morning for northeast China city Shenyang, the second leg of his three-day official visit to China.

In Shenyang, capital of Liaoning Province, Raffarin is to attend a symposium on economic and trade cooperation between the three northeast China provinces and France.

Later Friday, he will fly from Shenyang to Shanghai for a series of activities there, including delivering three speeches.

During his stay in Beijing, Raffarin held talks with Premier Wen Jiabao and met with Vice-President Zeng Qinghong. They exchanged views on China-France political, economic, trade and cultural cooperation, and ties between China and the European Union.

Raffarin and Wen also witnessed the signing of 20 cooperation agreements, worth of three billion euros, on aviation, nuclear energy and agriculture.

Raffarin is scheduled to leave Shanghai Saturday and end his China visit, the second since 2003. Enditem
