    BEIJING, April 21 -- Chinese director Chen Chong will adapt the novel "Fu Sang" by renowned writer Yan Geling for the big screen.

    Rising Chinese star Zhang Ziyi will play the film's lead role, a simple girl that is forced into prostitution in the United States.

    A joint project between Chinese and US film companies, shooting will begin at the end of this year. The film is expected to cost more than 100 million yuan.

    Celebrated Chinese actor Chow Yun-Fat is also in talks for a role in the film, reported to be a ringleader of Chinese workers in America.
