ROME, April 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Italy's Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said Wednesday he will resign in order to form a new government, to solve the biggest government crisis in his turn in four years, ANSA and Apcom news agencies reported on Wednesday.

กกกก"Yes, I am going to the head of state to resign," Berlusconi told reporters as he was going to the Senate to address lawmakers about his intentions to form a new government.

He told the Senate that he planned to form a new government with the same majority and he had won support from his coalition allies.

Berlusconi has been in mounting pressure to make drastic reforms within the government from his center-right coalition allies after the government suffered a crushing defeat in a regional election this month. Enditem
