JAKARTA, April 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Some ten thousand people took to the street on Sunday in front of the US Embassy, demanding the US government to clarify its stance over the occupation of Al-AqsaMosque by the Israeli Jewish radicals.

The members and supporters of the Indonesian Justice and Prosperous Party (PKS) also demanded to know whether the United States is part of the recent Israeli terrorism, the PKS chairman Tifatul Sembiring said.

"We call on the government to save Palestine from Israel's threat," the PKS leader said.

This is the largest mass rally in recent months in Jakarta, which was also covered by Al Jazeera, an influential Abrabic TV station and was broadcast live.

In addition to demanding the US clarification of Israel's terrorism, the PKS also appealed to all communities to boycott products of Israel.

"It is proven that many of Zionist products have been used to strengthen Israeli armament which was then used to suppress Palestinians," Tifatul said.

The Muslim-based PKS party also called on the world communitiesto make utmost effort to help Palestinians in their struggle for self-determination.

Speakers at the rally said the occupation by Jewish radicals against a holy Al Aqsa mosque is not an attack against Moslems in Arabic land, but an attack against the human beings. Therefore allpeople in the world should resist the barbaric action by Israeli radicals.

In a statement, the PKS urged President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to provide support for freedom of Palestinians and to save Al Aqsa Mosque.

The party also urged delegations at the Asia Africa Summit, scheduled to be held on April 22 to 23, to have an agreement on deployment of international peacekeeping force to Palestinian territory that had been occupied by Israeli's troops.

The demonstrators also called on the United States to stop economic and military support for Israel, because the aid had beenmisused to suppress Palestinians. Enditem
