Suicide car bomb hits US military convoy in Baghdad
www.chinaview.cn 2005-04-13 18:16:56

BAGHDAD, April 13 (Xinhuanet) -- A suicide car bomb blew up Wednesday at a US military convoy near Baghdad International Airport, causing casualties among US forces and Iraqi civilians, witnesses said.

The attack took place at about 10:00 a.m. (0700 GMT) when a suicide bomber drove an explosive-laden vehicle into a US military convoy on the main road leading to the airport, destroying a US Humvee and five civilian cars.

US troops evacuated casualties to a medical facility in a military base in the airport.

The US military had no comment on the incident.

The road leading to Baghdad International Airport is the most dangerous route in the Iraqi capital, with up to 15 daily attacks targeting US troops since the US invasion in March 2003. Enditem
