www.chinaview.cn 2005-04-13 13:20:41

MADRID, April 12 (Xinhuanet) -- A Moroccan suspected of buying explosives used in the Madrid terror bombings in March 2004 was arrested early Tuesday, police said.

Soufiane Raifak was held in the Foreign Internment Center of Algeciras County in the southern Cadiz province for illegal immigration into Spain, police said.

The suspect is under investigation for links with Jamal Ahmidan,a key bombing suspect who blew himself up in an apartment in a suburb of Madrid, as the police tried to arrest him.

Raifak is also being investigated for possible links with LoftiSbai, Rafa Zouhier and Rachid Agliff, who were detained for suspected involvement in the Madrid train explosion on March 11, 2004, which claimed 192 lives and left more than 1,500 injured. Enditem
