Four wanted terror suspects nabbed in Iraq
www.chinaview.cn 2005-04-13 02:40:00

BAGHDAD, April 12 (Xinhuanet) -- US and Iraqi forces nabbed four wanted terrorist cell leaders in a series of massive raids in Baghdad, the US military said Tuesday.

The four suspects, detained in four separate operations, had been specifically targeted for their involvement in terrorist cells, the military said in a statement.

The statement provided no further details about the four, only saying they were currently held in US custody.

The series of operations were mounted late Monday and early Tuesday in western Baghdad, where weapons and documents were also founded, it said.

Also on Tuesday, Iraqi security forces captured Fadhil Ibrahim Mahmud Al-Mashadani, an allegedly key member of the toppled Saddam Hussein regime, in a farm northeast of Baghdad.

The interim government said Mashadani, once a military bureau leader in Baghdad under Saddam, organized and funded insurgent attacks against US and Iraqi forces. Enditem
