RAMALAH, April 11 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas issued on Monday a presidential decree prohibiting Palestinian security chiefs in the West Bank and Gaza from making statements to any internal or external media.

The decree, published by the official Wafa news agency, said the security chiefs were not authorized to make statements to mass media.

The decree also said the only one that is authorized to issue statements and hold contacts with internal and external media including Israeli media is the interior minister Nasser Yussef. Wafa said the decree was issued in order to unify the official media voice of the Palestinian National Authority. Enditem
