CAIRO, April 11 (Xinhuanet) -- Egyptian security forces have identified the suicide bomber of the attack in Cairo late Thursday and arrested three accomplices, the Egyptian daily Al Akhbar reported Monday.

The perpetrator was identified as an Egyptian from Qalioubia province, north of Cairo and the three accomplices were suspected of helping him with the explosives, said the daily.

The preliminary investigations showed the perpetrator was not registered and the four were not part of a larger organized group, said the report.

The blast in an open-air market in Cairo's Old City killed four people, including a French woman, an American man and a French man who was wounded and died while being flown back to France for treatment.

A man thought to be the bomber also died in the attack which occurred in the crowded market popular with tourists.

Egyptian Prosecutor-General Maher Abdel Wahed said Saturday thatinitial investigations showed the explosion was an individual act, stressing no one can make any speculation and everyone must wait for the outcome of further investigations. Enditem
