MADRID, April 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Three people had been arrested in connection with the separatist organization Basque Homeland and Freedom (ETA) in northern Guipuzcoa province, police said on Thursday.

With the arrests on Wednesday evening, the so-called Donosti Complex cell of ETA in Guipuzcoa was dismantled, Interior MinisterJose Alonso said.

The three detainees belonged to Donosti, Alonso said. In the swoops carried out at their houses, documents were also seized andthey would be analyzed, he added.

Spanish security forces have captured 50 ETA members this year, said the minister.

ETA, listed as a terrorist organization by the Spanish government, the United States and the European Union, has claimed responsibility for nearly 850 deaths since 1968 in a campaign for an independent Basque state in northern Spain and southwestern France. Enditem
