NEW DELHI, April 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is set
to fly into Srinagar, Indian-administered Kashmir capital, on Thursday morning
to inaugurate a historic Kashmir bus service, just a day after a brazen
terrorist attack sought to derail it.
"The peace process and the bus will go on," the prime minister said on
Wednesday after militants attacked Srinagar's tourist Reception Center where the
bus passengers had been lodged.
On Thursday, police and paramilitary personnel and soldiers strengthened
security in Srinagar to prevent any recurrence of Wednesday's attack on a
tourist complex again.
Home Minister Shivraj Patil and External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh will
accompany the prime minister to Srinagar on Thursday.
The bus link was agreed in mid-February by the foreign
ministers of the two countries. The Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus will link the
divided halves of Kashmir for the first time in nearly six decades.
