RIYADH, April 6 (Xinhuanet) -- A top wanted al-Qaida activist was killed by Saudi security forces in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on Wednesday, said security sources.

The sources said Abdulrahman al-Yazji, one of the 26 terror suspects on Saudi Arabia's most wanted list, was shot dead early Wednesday morning in a raid by Saudi security forces in an industrial area in southern Riyadh.

Security forces killed 14 militants including another top fugitive militant during a three-day fierce clash in the north of the kingdom that ended Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia has been battling a wave of violence by supporters of Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda terror network, which has targeted Westerners and security forces. Enditem
