RAMALLAH, April 5 (Xinhuanet) -- A senior Palestinian official accused Israel Tuesday of not being committed to the prisoners release agreement stating Palestinian participation in putting release criteria.
Issa Qaraqea, chief of the Palestinian Prisoners Club, told the "Voice of Palestine" radio that the Palestinians demand that the release operation must include all prisoners imprisoned before the Oslo Accords in 1994.
Qaraqea made the remarks in response to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's intentions to release 400 more Palestinian prisoners, part of the agreement reached at the Feb. 8 Sharm el-Sheikh summit in Egypt.
Qaraqea, a member of the committee responsible for the prisoners question, clarified that a session between both Israeli and Palestinian sides to study the criteria and the basis of the release failed to reach any agreement.
"We don't want any security conditions and discriminating criteria on this issue," he said. Enditem |
