CANBERRA, April 3 (Xinhuanet) -- Nine Australian
military personnel were killed and two others seriously injured when the
helicopter carrying them crashed on the quake-stricken island of Nias in
Indonesia on Saturday.
The Navy's Sea King helicopter was flying an aid
mission to thearea, just hours after Australia's military support to the island
started, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation radio reported Sunday.
The injured were taken to Australia's navy ship HMAS
Kanimbla for treatment.
More than 1,300 people have been killed in Nias, off
Indonesia's Sumatra island, when the quake measuring 8.7 on the Richter scale
