Mercedes-Benz recalls three models in China
BERLIN, April 1 (Xinhuanet) -- German automaker DaimlerChrysler is recalling 1.3 million Mercedes worldwide due to electrical and braking-system defects.
DaimlerChrysler will replace battery-control software controlling on-board power supply on E-class and CLS-class models made between January 2002 and January 2005, and update the braking system on E-class, SL-class and CLS models made since June 2001, German media reported Friday.
In addition, the voltage regulator in the alternator on cars with six and eight cylinder petrol engines built between June 2001 and November 2004 will also be recalled and if necessary be replaced, DaimlerChrysler said.
DaimlerChrysler did not reveal how much the recall, the biggest ever in DaimlerChrysler's history, would cost. Enditem |
