BEIJING, March 29 (Xinhuanet) -- The China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec Corp) announced Tuesday it has discovered a large gas field in the northeastern part of southwest China's Sichuan province, with verified reserves topping 114.36 billion cubic meters.

    The newly-discovered Puguang Gas Field is regarded as the largest gas field ever discovered in the Sichuan Basin, and one ofthe largest gas fields in the country, the source said.

    The gas field has a workable gas reserve of 87.83 billion cubicmeters. Experts from the Ministry of Land and Resources have appraised and confirmed the reserves of Puguang Gas Field.

    Sinopec Corp is speeding up efforts to develop the large gas field, the source said. Enditem
