GAZA, March 28 (Xinhuanet) -- A car that drove in Gaza City that belongs to a Palestinian lawyer suddenly exploded on Monday night in one of the main city streets, wounding at least two Palestinians that were in the car, Palestinian witnesses said.
The witnesses said the car was driving near the crossroad of alWahda and al Jallah, two main streets in Gaza City, when it suddenly exploded, adding the car belongs to Majed al Jaarawi, a Palestinian lawyer in Gaza.
Palestinian security sources said a bomb had been planted inside the car, which was an apparent criminal act rather than any Israeli army attack on Palestinian militants.
Firefighters and ambulances rushed to the scene of the explosion and Palestinian medics at Shiffa Hospital said two people in the car including the lawyer himself were injured.
Relatives of the lawyer said the incident was likely to be related to personal disputes, adding the lawyer was racing in the elections of the Gaza lawyer bar association. Enditem |
