BEIJING, Mar. 25 -- Angelina Jolie has been named the world's sexiest woman.

The 29-year-old actress beat the likes of actresses Halle Berry and Scarlett Johansson, socialite Paris Hilton, Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher and Pamela Anderson.

FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2005 poll was voted for by more than 15 million in 27 countries.

FHM editor Ross Brown said: "Angelina Jolie has featured highly in the competition for the last couple of years and she is a deserved winner of the global poll."

The winner of the UK readers' list will be announced next month, with singer Rachel Stevens, socialite Paris Hilton and actress Kelly Brook all front runners and online voting still continuing.
