ALMA ATA, March 23 (Xinhuanet) -- Kyrgyz Prime
Minister Nikolai Tanayev on Wednesday left for the southern city of Osh to hold
talks with demonstrators, Russian news agencies reported Wednesday.
Tanayev left by helicopter for the city, where the opposition had taken over the airport, police stations and
government buildings, according to the reports.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for President Askar Akayev
said there would be no talks with "criminal groups".
Tanayev was going south to "look for someone
constructive to talk to," the spokesman added.
Earlier on Wednesday, Kyrgyz President Akayev ordered
to sack his interior minister and the general prosecutor.
Akayev, who gave no reasons for the sacking in his
decrees, has rejected opposition demands to step down or cancel the results of a
parliamentary election disputed by the opposition.
Akayev's supporters won a landslide victory in the
parliament elections held on Feb. 27 with runoffs in many regions on March 13.
On Sunday, thousands of opposition supporters stormed
government buildings in the southern town of Jalal-Abad, following protests
Friday in nearby Osh, the second-biggest city in the country.
The opposition refused to accept the results and
accused the authorities of fraud in the election, demanding Akayev's
resignation. Akayev has blamed the opposition leaders for incitinga civil war.
