    BEIJING, Mar. 22 (Xinhuanet)-- Google is taking step to remove articles and accompanying photos of French news agency Agence France Presse (AFP) from its Google News service.กก

Agence France-Presse is seeking damages and interest of at least 17.5 million USD from search world leade Google Inc. for displaying AFP material, according to the suit filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

    This move is the immediate reaction to the lawsuit filed by AFP against the world's leading search engine, according to the report of PC World.

    However the company doesn't have a timetable for when all AFP links and content will be removed from Google News, but it is actively working on the matter, according to the report of PC World.

    "We allow publishers to opt out of Google News. Most, however, want to be included in Google News because they believe it's a benefit to them and their readers," Langdon was quoted as saying by PC World.

    AFP has sued Google Inc. seeking damages and interest of at least 17.5 million USD for displaying AFP's photos, news headlines and stories on its news site without permission. Enditem
