    CAIRO, March 19 (Xinhuanet) -- A car bomb tore through a theater in the Qatari capital of Doha and killed one person on Saturday night, the Interior Ministry said.

    Twelve other people were injured in the blast and 10 of those had already been released from the hospital, the ministry said in a statement.

    The British Foreign Office in London said the dead person was a Briton.

    The explosion took place at about 9:15 p.m. (1815 GMT) at the Doha Players Theater where dozens of people, mostly foreigners were watching a Shakespeare play, the Qatar-based pan-Arab al-Jazeera TV said.

    The satellite news channel aired footage showing fires from the blast and some cars ablaze.

    The blast occurred in an area where the US embassy in Doha used to be located before the mission moved to new premises. Enditem
