RAMALLAH, March 15 (Xinhuanet) -- A senior Palestinian official said on Tuesday that Israel has agreed not to hunt down wanted militants hiding in the Palestinian territories.

Chief of the Wanted Palestinian Militants Committee Abdul Fattah Hamayel told reporters that Israel pledged to stop hunting down fugitive militants in a meeting with the Palestinian side Monday night.

Hamayel said more Palestinian-Israeli meetings would be held in the coming days to reach a final agreement on the issue.

In addition, Israel decided Monday to restart the long-delayed handover of West Bank cities to Palestinians. Jericho will be the first to be transferred on Wednesday.  Enditem
