Iran: US "Hallucinating" over nuclear talks
www.chinaview.cn 2005-03-14 16:26:40

BEIJING, Mar. 14 -- A senior member of Iran's nuclear negotiating team has warned the United States not to hallucinate that Iran will give up its nuclear projects.

Sirus Nasseri with Iran's delegation in the IAEA says the Europeans are ready to adopt a logical position as the European Union is close to accepting the fact that Iran will not give up its uranium enrichment plans.

He accuses Washington of "hallucinating" if it thinks Iran will scrap its nuclear fuel production plans in return for economic incentives.

In a related development, Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Hamid-Reza Asefi says Iran's nuclear technology will not be used for military purposes. He made the remark in response to Israel's allegation that Iran is developing nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, London's Sunday Times newspaper reports that Israel has drawn up plans for a combined air and ground attack on Iranian nuclear installations if diplomatic means fail to halt Tehran's atomic program.
